Typesetting system that is the base for [[wp>LaTeX|LaTeX]]. Unlike LaTeX it is much more barebones, as a consequence, it is much faster to compile documents. It additionally can use quite a bit of other packages from LaTeX, only if the package is written in plainTeX.
